The EIT Raw Materials is an EU organization dealing with development of innovative technologies for the raw material industries. They have a regular Jumpstarter competition to find the best ideas of young researchers worth developing for the industry. In this year an international team (with two students from Miskolc) has achieved to be finalist within the six best team, and participate in the final on 30 November in Athens.
The team is led by Mohamed Badawi (University of Miskolc), exploration geologist and remote sensing expert, and formed by three other members, Ali Shebi (University of Debrecen), geophysicist, gamma ray plus geology specialist, Prof. Tamer Abu-Alam (UIT Arctic University, Norway), big data and AI developer, and Omar Marshaly (University of Miskolc), IT manager, specialist on cyber security.
Their idea, the AccessEARTH is an innovative AI/cloud application that efficiently analyses vast datasets like satellite, geophysical, and geochemical data. Our offering responds to the EU's need for securing critical raw materials through advanced, AI-driven mining exploration, providing a solution that's timely, efficient, and accurate. Traditional methods often don't match up in terms of precision and affordability, and with the EU's move towards deep tech, our solution fills a significant gap. Their ambitious goal is to launch.
If their plan comes true, the company will have a nice turnover of 2 million EUR by year 2030. Let us cross our fingers now and expect the best for the team in the Athens final first.
