Changes in the operation of the TEKH College

14. December 2024.

The TEKH Vocational College’s Board reviewed the organization’s operations in the first half of 2024, based on the results of which it proposed to the General Assembly of the College to amend the Organizational and Operational Regulations (hereinafter: SZMSZ). The General Assembly supported the Board’s proposal, so it was submitted for approval to the Senate of the University of Miskolc.

The Senate adopted the new SZMSZ of the College at its meeting on 17 October 2024, so it entered into force on 1 November 2024. The new SZMSZ can be viewed here. (New or modified parts of the text are marked with a dashed line underline.)

Simultaneously with the entry into force of the new SZMSZ, the College of Engineering and Technology also has a new Board from 1 November 2024.

Prof. Dr. János Földessy, the founding president of the College, has decided to pass on the baton and has therefore resigned from his position as president. We would like to take this opportunity to thank Professor for the enormous amount of work he has put into establishing and then operating the College. Without his proactivity, enthusiasm and creativity, the TEKH Vocational College would probably never have started, but it would certainly not have become what we know it to be today.

At the suggestion of the Dean of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Engineering, the Rector of the University appointed Dr. Viktória Mikita, the previous financial manager of the College, as the new president of the College for the three-year term stipulated in the SZMSZ. Viktória Mikita is a certified environmental engineer, civil engineer and hydrogeologist, and obtained her university degrees from Széchenyi István University of Győr and the University of Miskolc, and her PhD from the University of Miskolc. She is currently associate professor at the Institute of Water Resources and Environmental Management of the Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences and Engineering of the University of Miskolc. Her research interests include hydrogeology, including hydrodynamic and transport modelling, well design and environmental planning.

The Dean appointed to the position of chief operating officer of the College – also for a period of three years – Dr. Norbert Németh associate professor, who has also been a long-standing member of the College and its Board.
