Abdussalam Muhammad Auwal in the EU EIT RIS Internship program

10. October 2024.
As we reported earlier, a number of our members applied successfully and completed with merit the RIS Internship Programme. The internship has been linked with 200–600 EUR / month grants covering the different expenses of the student at the receiveing country.

Now Abdussalam Muhammad Auwal has informed us about his works at the Geological Survey of Slovenia (GeoZS) from August 1st to September 30th, 2024.

During this two-month internship, he engaged in various hydrogeological research activities that significantly contributed to his professional development. These activities included simulating the karstic hydrogeological system of the Rižana spring using FEFLOW, conducting groundwater sampling for stable isotope analysis in the Zelenci region, and monitoring groundwater levels to track potential contaminant transport in Žrece. He also measured the flow rate and direction of the Škofije river using the Flo-Tracer device and assessed the physical properties of surface and groundwater during fieldwork. The experience has allowed to expand his skills in hydrogeology.
